Life or Something Like It
Have you ever wondered if life on earth was worth the effort? Ever felt it’s all pretty
meaningless? Do you generally feel your days are colored with hopeless monotony?
What advantage do we have in all our work which we do under the sun? That is the $64,000
question. Mick Jagger once lamented what we all struggle with, "I can't get no satisfaction."
And we try. And we try. And we try. And we try. Why is it that total fulfillment and
satisfaction are so elusive on this side of heaven? In this new series Pastor Russ seeks to address
that question, and more through a book in the Bible many people would rather sweep under the
rug. Yet, no other book captures the mood of 21st century America so accurately. Ecclesiastes is
the one book divinely designed to bring us face to face with the reality of Life Or Something Like It.

Modesty: The Elephant In The Room
“Sacred cows make great hamburgers.” So, we’re told. Tackling the subject of modesty in the face of a culture bent on just the opposite isn’t a savory idea. To wrestle with one of the great sacred cows of our time is to invite controversy. The issue of modesty, however is more than a sacred cow. For most of us, it’s the elephant in the room - big, ugly, smelly and always in the way. Everyone feels it’s presence, looming in our midst, but no one wants to talk about it. Yet, we must ... no matter how uncomfortable it may be. Because God does! In this provocative and culturally relevant series, Pastor Russ Cotnoir, Jr. devours the elephant and uncovers the biblical truth about modesty one bite at time, helping us to realize that modesty is not primarily an issue of clothing, but it is ultimately an issue of the heart.

Made to Fit
Spiritual gifts. One of the most likely misunderstood and controversial topics in the body of Christ today. While a mist of confusion and controversy surrounds the discussion of these gifts, without a basic understanding of their nature, as well as the identification of what our gifts are, the growth and health of the Church will be seriously stunted. The Bible clearly states that every believer has been entrusted with a God-given, God-empowered, God-controlled ability for God-centered service in order for the church to properly function. They are not options, or necessities. Their purpose is not to divide us, or confuse us, but to unite us, and enable us to reach the goal that Christ has set for His church. In this detailed biblical and practical study of our spiritual gifts, Pastor Russell C. Cotnoir, Jr. points to the fact that every Christian is individually responsible to allow the Spirit inspired Word of God to clear the confusion and lift the veil. God has placed us on a "need to know" basis. Do you know what your gifts are? Why not allow the Spirit to lead you into a fresh new discovery through this relevant and important study!

The Parable of Prodical People
Is there anything more fragile than a bruised reed? Is there anymore graphic picture of disillusionment and passion lost than a smoldering wick?
The world is all too full of both. People who are bruised, bent, battered and one touch shy of being totally crushed - prodigal people. Are you one of them? There is a world out there that knows exactly what to do with you. If you are bruised the world will break you in half. If you seem to be smoldering, it will do its best to snuff you out. But there is someone who will take you in. In this unique look at the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15, Pastor Russ views life as a prodigal through the eyes of each character in the story. Because our nature to become a prodigal is multi-faceted, every character in this story becomes our story at one point or another. The loving father, the rebellious son, the elder brother and even Jesus Himself were all prodigals of sorts. Slipping ourselves into their shoes helps us to discoverour need for God’s amazing grace and how to show it. God has a tender place for the bruised and the broken. He will never abandon a wounded heart. He is a father to the fatherless, a lover of the unlovely, a husband to the lonely, a compass to the wandering, and a companion to the friendless. And He is calling you home. He doesn't expect you to be perfect. Come as you are. But be prepared. You will never be the same after coming to Him. No one ever is.

Supernatural Snapshots
Someone once asked why miracles aren’t happening today as they did when Jesus walked the earth. Because if they were, they thought, it would make it much easier for some people to believe.
But would it? Out of the 3 dozen miracles of Jesus recorded in the gospels, the apostle John selectively and strategically chose to relate only 7 of them. He chose them to reveal some things. Something about life. Something about death. Something about sickness. Something about hope. Something about love. Something about sin. Something about faith. Something about doubt. Something about the future. Something about the here and now. Something about the Father. But ultimately they were recorded to reveal something else. There is something very significant that we must grasp as we study the miracles of Jesus. Signs alone never produce true faith, they only confirm and give credence to the fact that you are traveling in the right direction. These miracles are just that - signs. Signs are directive. They point. They are not ends in themselves. They are glimpses of something more. They are signposts to Someone. Follow the signs, and discover the Savior. Isn’t that what we really want? Isn’t that what we really need?
